DESCRIPTION
A New Horizon propels one forward with a driving pulse full of adventure. Glistening moments peak throughout, making each part exciting, such as the secondary melody introduced in the violas and cellos. At m.49 the violins pull the music forward with just eight notes. When the adventure comes to a lull, one can hear a murmur of “dies irae” before the two themes return in combination. A New Horizon provides students ample finger twisters and an opportunity to see how the individual parts fit together giving them more independence as musicians.
