PROGRAM NOTES
At first, this string quartet started just as any other. Eventually, my momentum in writing came to a momentary pause, and a recurring arm injury flared up again– to the point where I could not play my cello. From there, the quartet essentially wrote itself. There have been many concerts I have not been able to play in with my friends, professors, and mentors which has been heartbreaking. It’s been a notably difficult time dealing with the injury in and of itself, let alone the emotional toll. This piece has been something that has helped me work through that. I am honored to have the first performance premiered by my friends and professors: Leanne Kelso, Lisa Gauslow, Eric Funk, and Benjamin Whitcomb.

This quartet is to all of those who have been there for me through everything, and otherwise.
