Eleri Beal (she/her) is a composer, conductor, and cellist based in southern Wisconsin. Graduated from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, she has obtained bachelor degrees in Composition and Graphic Design. In addition, she has completed a conducting certificate at the university, studying with Chris Ramaekers, David Anderson, and Kelby Schnepel.

Her string quartet, “and otherwise,” won first prize in the 2023 Wisconsin Alliance for Composers (WAC) contest and was performed at the 2024 WAC New Music Festival. Other works include “Waterwheel,” performed by the UWW and UW-Madison Cello Ensembles, and “Fantasia on Walking In the Air” for full orchestra, commissioned by David Anderson. The Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra premiered it during their 2024 Holiday Concert, in which Eleri conducted the premiere, and the piece was later performed again in 2025 by the Lake Forest Civic Orchestra.

She has been a guest conductor with the Turtle Creek Chamber Orchestra since 2023, and has worked with the orchestra on Bartok’s Romanian Folk Dances and Sibelius’s Spring Song. 

As a cellist, Eleri has played with the Lake Geneva Symphony Orchestra, the Turtle Creek Chamber Orchestra, the Beloit-Janesville Symphony Orchestra, the Blue Moon Klezmer Band, the UW-W Symphony and Chamber orchestras, UW-Whitewater’s Chancellor’s Quartet, and UW-W Baroque Ensemble.
